Phivolcs: Magnitude-4.6 quake hits Abra

A magnitude-4.6 quake rocked Abra province in northern Luzon before dawn Monday, but state seismologists said no damage or aftershock was expected. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was recorded at 2:38 a.m. Monday, and was tectonic in origin. Phivolcs said the epicenter of the quake was at 31 km southeast of Bangued town in Abra. It said the quake was felt at Intensity II in Pasuquin town and Laoag City in Ilocos Norte. But it said the quake was not felt in Callao and Tuguegarao in Cagayan; and in Sinait, Ilocos Sur. — RSJ, GMANews.TV
