Premyo sa lotto nais limitahan sa P500M

MANILA - Ngayong pumapalo na sa mahigit P600 milyon ang jackpot prize sa Grand Lotto 6/55, iminungkahi ng isang kongresista nitong Miyerkules na limitahan ang premyo sa online lottery sa kalahating bilyon o P500 milyon. Sa kanyang resolusyon, inihayag ni Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone na maaaring mapigilan pa ang pagkahumaling ng isang tao sa pagtaya naturang uri ng sugal kung may limitasyon sa premyo ng naturang legal na sugal. “The PCSO (Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office) must set a limit to jackpot prize at stake at a maximum amount, say, Five Hundred Million Pesos (Php 500,000,000.00), and if such maximum amount is not won or forfeited, it must be donated to orphanages and charitable institutions," paliwanag ng kongresista. Nais din ni Evardone na magsagawa ng pagdinig ang House committee on games and amusement, tungkol sa sistema ng laro at pangkalahatang epekto nito sa publiko. Tinatayang hihigit pa sa P620 milyon ang magiging premyo sa 6/55 Grand Lotto draw sa Miyerkules ng gabi, na pinakamalaki sa kasaysayan ng bansa. “The unimaginable jackpot prize and wide media coverage have resulted in record-number of people playing the mega-lotto," ayon kay Evardone, dating gobernador. “Widespread compulsion to play, including people who normally would not engage in gambling, tends to run counter to the PCSO vision to uplift the quality of life of the Filipino people. Not one ticket sold has matched the winning number combination after 83 lottery draws, with almost every possible pick of number combination being sold," idinagdag niya. Bagaman maganda ang mungkahi ni Evardone, sinabi ng isang opisyal ng PCSO na hindi nila basta mababago sa sistema ng laro. Bukod sa 6/55, may bola rin ang PCSO para sa 6/42 Lotto, Mega Lotto 6/45, at Super Lotto 6/49. . Ngunit para kay Evardone, naiinganyo ang publiko – maging ang mga dating hindi tumataya – na tumaya sa lotto kapag sobra na ang laki ng papremyo kahit batid pa nila na mahirap itong tamaan dahil sa dami ng kombinasyon. “The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) must explain how this non-winner phenomenon has come about. There must be instances or conditions where players may get a refund in case of repeated non-winner draws. The PCSO must disclose the total amount of revenue generated by ticket sales of the Mega-Lotto game," ayon sa kongresista. - GMANews.TV
