San Miguel to pursue more coal projects in Indonesia

Diversified conglomerate San Miguel Corp. (SMC) will continue to pursue coal projects in Indonesia, company president and CEO Ramon Ang told reporters on Friday. "We're looking at either acquisitions or joint ventures with Indonesian coal mines," Ang said. SMC is the biggest trader of electricity after it won the contract to administer the capacities of the Sual coal-fired thermal power plant and San Roque hydropower plant in Pangasinan, and the Ilijan natural gas power facility in Batangas. The conglomerate also owns and operates the Limay diesel power plant in Bataan. — JE/OMG, GMANews.TV
