Even after police tightened security around flea markets and shopping centers offering Christmas sales, robbers struck anew in different areas in Metro Manila. Along R-10 road in Tondo, robbers took documents, P3,000 cash and a cell phone from messenger Gary Atilano. In eastern Metro Manila, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported police tightened security at tiangges (flea markets) in Marikina City against snatchers and muggers.
