PDEA raids 'shabu dens' in Cavite, fails to make arrests

Anti-drug operatives raided three houses suspected to be drug dens in Cavite province early Saturday, but failed to make any arrests. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the raid stemmed from more than three months of surveillance on the area. "Halos tatlong buwan minamanmanan ito, nag-operation tayo rito (We conducted surveillance on this area for three months before the raid)," PDEA Southern Luzon regional head Randy Pedroso said in an interview on dzBB radio. Pedroso said they received information from local residents the people in the three houses they raided in Toclong village in Imus town in Cavite were engaged in drug trade. He said they obtained search warrants from a local court before raiding the houses. But he admitted they failed to make arrests, saying the three suspected drug dealers may have been tipped off. "Our targets were three houses. Two of the targets were not at home and one was supposedly staying with a spouse in the hospital," he said. — LBG, GMANews.TV
