Woman gives birth on street near QC superstore

A surprise greeted passersby at a busy thoroughfare in Quezon City when a woman gave birth on the street near a supermarket there early Saturday. Radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported even Rosalinda Vargas was surprised when she gave birth to a baby girl near the supermarket along Commonwealth Avenue. The report quoted witnesses as saying Vargas seemed unaware at first she was going to give birth, and that she appeared shocked when the baby came out. Bystanders quickly called 117, prompting a team from the city's Red Cross chapter to rush to the scene.
