Falcons aim to deliver KO punch vs Eagles

Adamson aims to finish off defending champion Ateneo when they clash anew in Sunday’s Game 2 of the 2010 Philippine Collegiate Champions League crown at the PhilsSports Arena in Pasig City.

Games Sunday (Philsports Arena, Pasig City) 2 p.m. – SBC vs ADMU (Junior) 4 p.m. – AdU (1-0) vs ADMU (Game 2)
A victory by the Falcons in the 4 p.m. game will give them their first ever crown in the PCCL. Their last UAAP title was in 1977. After an 80-78 upset of the highly-favored Blue Eagles on Thursday, Falcons coach Leo Austria said they are not planning to play another game. “Of course we want to end the series in Game 2. We shall be doing the right things when we beat them. We expect a tough game and we’ll be ready." An exhibition match between UAAP juniors champion Ateneo Blue Eaglets and NCAA counterpart San Beda Red Cubs will serve as an appetizer at 2 p.m. Adamson’s high-flying forward Alex Nuyles became the biggest headache for Ateneo coach Norman Black, as the Bicol native scored eight of his 13 points down the stretch – including the game-winning three-point play – to allow the Falcons to escape with the win. Jan Colina, Janus Lozada and Lester Alverez are expected to provide scoring support anew. “We have to once again execute well and get everyone involved, just like in Game 1, for us to win again and get the championship," said Austria. Austria, however, believes Ateneo is a dangerous squad and is capable of making a comeback. “I’m sure they will bounce back in Game 2 because they know what’s at stake." – JVP/KY, GMANews.TV
