Four killed in Misamis Or. road accident — police

Four people, including a five-year-old child, were killed in a road accident in Misamis Oriental Monday morning, police said. Police Officer 3 Jackson Cabanatan of the Alubijid Municipal Police said the four died when a passenger jeepney hit a motorcycle before slamming into a tree along a national highway in Brgy. Loguilo in Alubijid town. According to Cabanatan, the passenger jeepney was en route to Ilihan City from Cagayan de Oro City when it hit the motorcycle at around 8:45 a.m. Cabanatan identified the fatalities as jeepney driver Sonnyboy Bacadon; his five-year-old son Leo; the driver of the motorcycle, retired police sergeant Eddie Magsalay; and a certain April Poblete. Eight others were injured in the incident. Cabanatan said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. Initial reports said one of the jeepney’s tires exploded, causing it to ram the motorcycle.
