The BORN Project Finale!
Episode on December 15, 2010 Wednesday after Saksi! The BORN Project Born to be Wild’s 3rd anniversary presentation Last week, Born to be Wild opened its third anniversary presentation by introducing this year’s Born Project – an effort to showcase how seemingly useless items can be turned into something functional if properly recycled.
Viewer volunteers, concerned groups and organizations work together to promote the sustainable use of plastics. At least 32,806 used soda and PET bottles have been raised as of the latest count and more bottles continue to pour in. Instead of ending up in landfills, these bottles will be donated to serve three main functions – manufacturing blankets and t-shirts for the needy, reconstructing a classroom, and building an eco-library through Laguna’s and MyShelter Foundation’s bottle school project.
This Wednesday, the Christmas bug also catches up with the Born Project as Doc Ferds, Kiko and the volunteers go around distributing blankets and t-shirts made out of recycled plastics. Homeless families and hospital patients get a little warmth from materials that would’ve otherwise been thrown as trash.
And finally, after overcoming several hurdles, the renovated classroom and eco-library will at last be unraveled. Don’t miss the finale of The Born Project this Wednesday, December 15, right after Saksi!
