NDRRMC: 2 killed, 42K people affected by Capiz floods
At least two people were confirmed dead while more than 42,000 people were affected by floods caused by heavy rains in Capiz province. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Tuesday night the floodwaters have receded except in low-lying areas. In its Dec. 14 update, the NDRRMC identified the fatalities as:
- Richard Diestro, 15, of Tabuc Sur in Panit-an, drowned while crossing a heavy current in Tabuc Sur; and
- Greggy delos Santos, 10, of Sitio Ilaya, Dapdapan, Sapian, who drowned in strong current after falling while crossing a bamboo footbridge.
