Coast Guard: 11 Singaporeans missing off Batanes all safe

The 11 Singaporean nationals who earlier were reported missing while kayaking in Northern Luzon over the weekend are all safe, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Monday. Citing a belated report from its station in Basco, Batanes, the PCG said nine were initially accounted for on Saturday, while the remaining two arrived in Basco later. The PCG said the 11 Singaporeans were kayaking from Sabtang Island to Basco, Batanes when they were reported missing. Out of the nine Singaporeans initially rescued, two managed to go back to Sabtang on their own. Four reached the Port of Basco at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Three others were rescued by Coast Guard Station Basco about six nautical miles off Basco, Batanes. – VVP, GMANews.TV
