PNoy: No go-signal for Kris to talk about my love life

Kris Aquino may be the leading source of information about her brother's love life. Or is she? Asked during Tuesday's Bulong Pulunganforum in Sofitel hotel in Manila whether his celebrity sister had his go-signal to speak about his love life, President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III answered, "She doesn't have permission." His response sent waves of laughter rolling through the audience. As far as the President himself is concerned, he’s chosen to remain mum about any potential future first lady. No one’s authorized to speak about it, too. But on Monday morning, Kris told a local radio station that her brother had introduced the woman he was dating, stock broker Len Lopez, to her and their other sisters. Aquino refused to confirm this at the Bulong Pulungan forum. "Tutal iba kino-quote mo, sila na lang po tanungin niyo (Since you’re quoting someone else, why don’t you ask these people again)," Aquino said. "As you know that is a topic that I have reserved for my private life." Aquino refused to entertain questions about his love life. "The love life will not be existent if the questions are entertained," he said at the forum. Prior to dating Lopez, Aquino was linked to celebrity stylist Liz Uy, a close friend of Kris. However, a romantic relationship didn't blossom between the two. Aquino's last known romantic relationship was with Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad, whom he dated for two years until their reported breakup in late September. The President has since asked the media not to focus too much on his love life, often adding in jest that he would never find someone to marry if the media kept writing about the woman he dates. — Jam L.
