ATMs will churn out cash during holidays — BSP

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will continue to service the needs of banks, particularly ATM operations, allaying fears that automated teller machines (ATMs) might run out of cash during the holidays. "We have ensured the uninterrupted flow of peso bills to the various banks during the Christmas season by putting in place a skeletal force at our cash department," said BSP Deputy Gov. Diwa Guinigundo. "Even with most Filipinos now [in] holiday mood, some of us have been tasked to remain vigilant and ensure the Christmas shoppers have easy access to their money in the bank," the deputy governor said. The central bank has always proven itself efficient and effective in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of cash so that banks may serve its clients, the BSP said. "We have a highly efficient mechanism already in place for the uninterrupted flow of peso bills whenever people need it," Guinigundo said. — JE/VS, GMANews.TV
