MMDA to close off portions of Roxas Blvd for filmfest parade


Motorists may have to avoid passing through Roxas Boulevard on Friday afternoon to avoid an expected traffic jam caused by the yearly Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) parade. In a radio interview on Friday, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino said the parade of showbiz stars in the yearly filmfest is scheduled between 1:00 and 6:00 p.m. Tolentino said the annual Parade of Stars will start from the Mall of Asia in Pasay City to the Quirino Grandstand in Manila. "Hihingi tayo ng pasensya, taon-taon ito ginagawa (We will have to ask the public's understanding. This is a yearly event)," he said in an interview on dzBB radio.

During the time that the portion of Roxas Boulevard is closed, he advised motorists to take alternate routes. At least eight films are taking part in the MMFF. These include:
  • Ang Agimat ni Enteng, Imus Productions/GMA Films/OctoArts Films/M-ZET Productions/APT Productions;
  • Ang Tanging Ina Mo Rin (Last na to!), Star Cinema;
  • Dalaw, Cine Media;
  • Father Jejemon, RVQ Productions;
  • Rosario, Cinema Buhay;
  • RPG, ABS-CBN Film Productions;
  • Shake Rattle And Roll XII, Regal Entertainment, and
  • Super Inday And The Magic Bibe, Regal Entertainment. The MMFF indie films include:
  • Senior Year
  • Slow Fade
  • Presa
  • Rindido
  • Nasaan si Hefte? – VVP, GMANews.TV
