Report: 3 killed in freak Skyway accident


(Updated 11 a.m.) Another victim in Tuesday morning's ambulance crash on Skyway in southern Metro Manila succumbed to his injuries, bringing the death toll from the accident to three. Radio dzBB's Nimfa Ravelo cited initial information identifying the latest fatality as Felix Soler, the patient in the ambulance being rushed to Manila when the accident occurred. Soler died while being treated at the Parañaque Doctors Hospital. Earlier, another victim, Rio Panganiban, was declared dead upon arrival there. The report said Soler was the patient being brought to a Manila hospital from Batangas when the ambulance crashed into a toll booth of Skyway's northbound part. A third fatality who was rushed to the Makati Medical Center was still not named as of 10 a.m. Injured were ambulance driver Noel Mercado, and passengers Melba Asis and Marie Grace Asis-Soler. Toll booth teller Marlyn Buta was discharged from the Parañaque Doctors Hospital after sustaining a wound in the forehead and arm. — LBG, GMANews.TV
