Maynilad apologizes for unscheduled water interruptions in QC

Water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services on Wednesday apologized to residents of areas in Quezon City for the unscheduled water service interruptions there. Maynilad advised affected residents who need free water deliveries to call the Maynilad Hotline at 1626. The company said water tankers are ready for immediate deployment when necessary. "We regret that we were unable to provide our customers with details regarding the unscheduled water interruptions. The irregular release of raw water supply from Ipo Dam precluded us from providing our customers with any advisory regarding the supply schedule," Maynilad said. In a statement on its website, Maynilad said the interruptions are due to the decreasing water level in Ipo Dam. As of Wednesday, Maynilad said the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) approved the increase of raw water releases from Angat to Ipo Dam. The increased raw water release from 37 cubic meters per second (cms) to 41 cms will significantly improve water supply to affected customers, Maynilad said. "We have also opened a number of deepwells to augment our water allocation from Angat Dam. In addition, we will continue to implement technical adjustments across our pipe network to manage our water supply," Maynilad said. – VVP, GMANews.TV
