PAGASA: Rains loom over east Visayas, Mindanao

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned of widespread rains that could trigger flash floods and landslides over parts of Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao. "Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with light rains while Visayas and Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides," it said in its 5 a.m. bulletin. PAGASA also said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the northeast and east over Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast and east with slight to moderate seas. PAGASA also said strong to gale force winds may affect the seaboards of Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Visayas. It advised fishing boats and small seacraft not to venture out to sea and larger sea vessels to be on alert against big waves. – VVP, GMANews.TV
