New Year fireworks shows in the Philippines


As 2010 draws to a close, usher in 2011 by watching beautiful fireworks displays in several places around the country. The public can watch free fireworks displays on these dates and in these venues:

    DECEMBER 30, Thursday
  • Riverbanks Center, Marikina
  • Greenhills Night Market, San Juan
  • SM City Cagayan de Oro
  • SM City Iloilo DECEMBER 31, Friday
  • SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City
  • San Juan Plaza, San Juan
  • Baywalk, Manila
  • Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City
  • Powerplant Mall, Rockwell, Makati
  • Subic Yacht Club, Olongapo City
GMA-7 will hold its annual year-end countdown at the SM Mall of Asia Dec. 31. A short fireworks display will kick off the party at 11 p.m., and a 15-minute fireworks show will happen at the stroke of midnight. Makati City, which usually holds a city government-sponsored fireworks display, will not have one this year due to the gas leak in Barangay Bangkal in Makati.
