Report: Aquino welcomes 2011 in Baguio, gets mountain bike as gift

President Benigno Aquino III received a mountain bike as a gift for the New Year as he and family members welcomed 2011 in Baguio City. Radio dzBB on Saturday quoted Presidential Security Group head Col. Ramon Dizon as saying Aquino and members of his family spent New Year’s Eve in the city. The report said Aquino received a mountain bike for the New Year, days after making public his New Year’s resolution, which is to be "more physically fit," and that he would take up biking. But the report also said Aquino still worked on Friday, receiving reports from various government agencies. Also, the dzBB report said Aquino was seen having dinner at the Rose Bowl Restaurant near Burnham Park. He was also to have a meeting with Baguio Bishop Carlito Cenzon at 3 p.m. Friday, as presidential guards cordoned the Baguio Cathedral at the time. Last Thursday, Aquino said he is looking forward to improving the economy further by decreasing the unemployment and underemployment rates in the country. He is hoping that disturbances in the world market would be mitigated and have “little" effect on the Philippine economy. — LBG, GMANews.TV
