Magnitude-4.4 quake rocks Leyte


A magnitude-4.4 quake jolted the Leyte area in Eastern Visayas early Saturday, but there was no immediate report of damage or casualty. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was recorded at 7:40 a.m. and was tectonic. In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the epicenter was 9 km northwest of Capoocan town in Leyte province. However, it did not specify the areas where the quake was felt.
