Report: Basilan councilor shot in front of own home, in critical condition

A town official from Basilan is currently in critical condition after being shot by an unidentified gunman in front of his own home on Thursday night, a radio report said. Isabela City councilor Mas Talib Alejo was shot while he was entering his house in San Rafael village at 7 p.m. Thursday, Bombo Radyo quoted an Isabela City police report as saying. Alejo was rushed to a nearby hospital after the incident, but his critical condition has prompted his family to transfer him to another hospital in Zamboanga City, the report said.
