Magnitude-4.7 quake rocks Eastern Samar

A magnitude-4.7 quake rocked Eastern Samar in Eastern Visayas shortly before midnight Thursday but there was no initial report of damage or casualty. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was recorded at 11:26 p.m. and was tectonic in origin. In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said the epicenter was 103 km southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. However, it did not indicate the specific areas where the quake was felt.
