Phivolcs: Magnitude-3.6 quake hits Davao Oriental


A magnitude-3.6 quake rocked the Davao Oriental area in Mindanao before dawn Monday but there was no initial report of damage or casualties. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was recorded at 2:55 a.m. and was tectonic in origin. In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the epicenter of the quake was traced to 116 km northeast of Mati, Davao Oriental. However, it did not immediately specify the areas where the quake was felt.
