The Puerto Princesa Airport in Palawan province was reopened Wednesday morning, less than 24 hours after a plane accident damaged some of its facilities. Radio dzBB reported the airport resumed operations after repairs were made on the runway damaged by a Cebu Pacific passenger plane that ran out of control around 7 p.m. Tuesday. The plane reportedly burst a tire upon landing on a grassy area along the airport's tarmac, damaging some runway lights. There were no reported injuries among passengers. Earlier reports said the runway damage prevented a Manila-bound Philippine Airlines plane from taking off. — LBG/RSJ, GMANews.TV
