US Embassy closed on Jan. 17 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day


The United States Embassy and its affiliated offices will be closed to the public on January 17, 2011, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. According to a press release issued by the embassy on Friday, regular services will resume on January 18. King (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was an American clergyman and a prominent leader in the African American civil rights movement. He is an iconic figure in promoting civil rights in the United States and around the world, using nonviolent methods. – VVP, GMANews.TV
