Report: Danish ship attacked in Gulf of Aden

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Danish news agency Ritzau says a Danish cargo ship has been attacked by pirates in the Gulf of Aden. Ritzau quotes Claus Bech, manager of the Shipcraft shipping company, as saying that the ship, Leopard, came under gunfire early Wednesday afternoon. Bech told Ritzau that the company had not had any contact with the crew since then. He didn't immediately return phone calls. Ritzau says the ship is crewed by four Filipinos and two Danes, one of whom is the captain. The Gulf of Aden is located in the Arabian Sea between Yemen and Somalia. The Leopard's cargo is unknown.—AP
