Tables turned: Que cheers wife in PHL Ladies Amateur

CANLUBANG, Laguna — With the first pro tournament still two weeks away, Angelo Que busied himself cheering for his wife Tracy, who returned to competition in the 2011 Philippine Ladies Amateur Open Championship at The Country Club. Que is savoring the moment, making the most out of his extended vacation before he tees off for the Razon Invitational later this month. And he is happy, too, riding his buggy and watching Tracy whack the dimpled ball again after a long five-year layoff. She last played in the 2006 Macau Open as a budding pro. "I'm just thrilled to see her determination to get back into action," he said. Tracy is eager as well to play the game she loves most. The pressure and the chance to be with friends are what she misses most. Will she be entering more events this year? "Probably not as much. If there's a chance, why not? For now, the order of business is the Ladies Open," said Tracy, who teaches yoga as her other profession. For a brief moment, the amiable Que did what his wife has been doing for him most of the time – clap and cheer silently at the sidelines. "Her unending support for me is priceless. This is my way of reciprocating it," Que said smiling. After the Ladies Open, it will be Angelo's turn to hit the fairways. He will prepare for the Razon Invitational, also at TCC, where he is a former champion, set on January 27 to 30. The 2011 Asian Tour kickoff tournament is scheduled in February. Aside from the Asian Tour and Philippine Golf Tour, Que said that he'll also compete in the cash-rich Japan Tour. "It will be a great opportunity to play in the Japan Tour," he added. – Adrian Flores, JVP, KY, GMANews.TV
