Cops compose sketch of suspect in Taguig gift bombing

The police have composed a sketch of the woman linked to the gift bombing incident that killed a housewife in Taguig City on December 29. Radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported on Monday that the Southern Police District is now using the sketch as a basis for hunting the suspect. The sketch described the woman as wearing sunglasses at the time of the incident, had shoulder-length hair, about 20 to 25 years old, and 4'11" to five feet tall, with brown complexion. SPD head Chief Superintendent Jose delos Santos said they expect to make an arrest soon. Metro Manila police had deepened their investigation into the incident that killed 31-year-old mother Yvonne Chua in Taguig City. “We have to dig deeper into this case, kasi limang granada ang involved dito. We will check saan nanggaling yan," Metro Manila police chief Director Nicanor Bartolome had said in an earlier interview on dzBB radio. (We have to dig deeper into this case. At least five grenades were involved. We want to see where the grenades came from and how they were procured.) He cited initial findings that the grenades that killed Chua, 31, were the type issued to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Chua was killed after one of the five grenades, which were disguised as a gift, exploded while she was opening the package. Her husband and son were not hurt. Bartolome earlier said they are pursuing the theory that a family feud was involved, after noting that the victim received threats through her cell phone. He also said their initial interviews with members of the Chuas’ household indicated the one who gave the gift claimed to be a household helper of a relative of the victim. – VVP, GMANews.TV
