Report: Passengers stranded as ferry boat stalls off Cebu

Several passengers aboard a shuttle ferry bound for Camotes Island in Cebu were stranded Tuesday after their vessel stalled due to bad weather conditions. Radio dzBB's Cebu affiliate reported the ferry left Danao City in Cebu at 7 a.m. en route to Camotes Island, but its engine conked out around 8 a.m. The report said many of the passengers were scared because of the big waves. Also, it said the Philippine Coast Guard sent a vessel with rescue teams to the site. An initial investigation showed the passengers had expected to arrive at Camotes Island at 11 a.m. — LBG, GMANews.TV
