PHL to host Asia Pacific GIS user confab


The Esri Asia Pacific Conference, one of the most highly anticipated geographic information systems (GIS) events in the region, will be hosted by the Philippines on January 26-27, 2011 at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City. With the theme “One Community, One Map", the conference will highlight the need for national and community mapping programs. The event, organized by the Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri, Inc.) and Geodata Systems Technologies Inc., will run for two days, covering executive forums, technical tracks, industry sessions, and customer testimonials. There will also be an exhibition featuring global and local players of the GIS market. The annual gathering of GIS experts will be graced by the founder and president of Esri, Jack Dangermond, who will be the key speaker in the senior executive forum. Dangermond is one of the pioneers of GIS technology and is considered to be one of the most influential people in GIS.
