QC station commander relieved from post over carjacking cases

A station commander of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) was relieved from his post on Friday after two "sensational" car theft incidents happened in his area of responsibility. QCPD director Chief Superintendent Benjardi Mantele on Friday said Superintendent Constante Agpaoa, station commander in Kamuning (Station 10), was "administratively relieved" over the two recent sensational cases:

  • the death of car dealer Venson Evangelista, who was last seen with prospective buyers in Quezon City last week, and
  • the stealing of the vehicle of dzMM news anchor Carl Balita on Thursday. "We have decided to relieve him due to the two sensational cases," said Mantele at a press briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City. Mantele said the relief would remain temporary while they check whether Agpaoa had at least devised a mechanism to prevent a repeat of the carnapping incidents. "Kung wala, the relief will be permanent," Mantele said. – VVP, GMANews.TV
