Lenovo opens its first gaming zone in PH


Computer maker Lenovo recently opened its first Internet café and gaming hub in the Philippines, seeking to provide an intense, high-definition, high-specification gaming experience to gaming enthusiasts. Located at SM Megamall Cyberzone, the Lenovo Gaming Zone is an addition to Lenovo’s 10 Lenovo Exclusive Stores (LES) and Think Exclusive Store (TES) nationwide. It is operated in partnership with VillMan Computers and Intel Philippines, and comprises 54 gaming and surfing stations equipped with Lenovo’s gaming desktop – the IdeaCentre K320. Michael Ngan, country manager for home and small-medium business at Lenovo Philippines said: “Based on the Synovate Philippines Young Asians 2010 survey, 60 percent of young Filipinos ranked online gaming as top of their Internet priorities. With the opening of the Lenovo Gaming Zone, we are reaching out to this market and expanding our presence with the Philippines PC gaming market through our Idea range of PCs that features technology for enhanced performance, style and gaming capabilities." The IdeaCentre K320 is a powerful multimedia desktop capable of running games that require superior graphics performance. With features including the Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, Nvidia GeForce GT 320 1GB video card and 640GB 5400 rpm SATA HDD, the IdeaCentre K320 is the optimal gaming machine powering the Lenovo Gaming Zone. The IdeaCentre K320 is exclusively experienced in the Lenovo Gaming Zone as it is not yet commercially available in the country. Lenovo’s latest all-in-one PCs for casual and hardcore gamers available locally are the IdeaCentre B300 and B500. The Lenovo IdeaCentre B300 desktop is ideal for individuals and families that enjoy the efficient performance of traditional desktop PCs but desire the fun and useful features of an all-in-one (AIO) design such as touch screen capabilities, HD monitor and a streamlined appearance. The IdeaCentre B500 all-in-one desktop is ideal for serious gamers and multimedia users. It features an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, powerful discrete graphics, up to 8GB DDR3 memory and 1TB HDD storage space. Coupled with a 4-in-1 remote control that acts as a motion-drive games controller, VOIP handset, air mouse and media remote, the B500 supports a dynamic multimedia entertainment experience.
