Phivolcs: Magnitude-4 quake hits Ilocos Sur

A predawn quake measuring magnitude 4 rocked Ilocos Sur province in Northern Luzon on Monday but there were no reports of damage or casualties. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was recorded at 1:00 a.m. and was tectonic in origin. In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake's epicenter was at 19 kilometers northwest of Vigan in Ilocos Sur. However, Phivolcs did not immediately list the specific areas where the quake was felt.
