Portion of EDSA-Ayala closed as police probe Makati bus blast

Authorities closed off Tuesday afternoon the corner of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and Buendia Avenue in Makati City following a bus explosion that killed at least two persons and injured at least 17. Radio dzBB's Mao dela Cruz reported the portion of EDSA near the corner of Ayala and Buendia was closed off so investigators can find leads from the scene. The Philippine National Police's Scene of the Crime Operations and Makati City police's Explosives and Ordnance Division sent operatives to process the scene. Media representatives in the area were asked to keep a distance from the scene so investigators can do their work. The dzBB report quoted Metro Manila police chief Director Nicanor Bartolome as saying that they had no initial information of a threat to peace and order. The Newman Gold Liner air-conditioned bus (TXJ-710) exploded shortly before 2 p.m. near the Buendia station of the Metro Rail Transit. - KBK, GMANews.TV
