Aquino-Espino reunion possible in Powerade

A Marlou Aquino-Dennis Espino reunion at Powerade? The possibility of the two former Sta. Lucia Realty stalwarts reuniting in the twilight of their illustrious careers emerged Wednesday night when Powerade was awarded first crack at the dispersal draft involving players of Barako Bull. The dispersal draft is set for Feb. 7. . Tigers coach Bo Perasol said the team is definitely thinking of tapping the services of the gangling 6-foot-9 Aquino, who’s now 37 years old. “It’s no secret that we need a big man," said Perasol. “But my coaching staff and I will have to discuss our options." Aquino was signed for a one-conference contract by rookie franchise Meralco, but was later shipped to Barako Bull in a trade that involved Reed Juntilla and Mark Isip. Aquino, the No. 1 pick in the 1996 Draft, and Espino, the top rookie selection in the 1995 Draft, were key players in the two championships the Realtors won in their 17-year stint in Asia’s first pay-for-play league. - KY, RCJ, GMANews.TV
