PEP: Charice to shoot TV special for GMA-7

Charice touched down in Manila at 7:30 AM today, Sunday. As soon as she arrived, she held a press conference at the NAIA Terminal 2 to clear up issues. She is slated to shoot a TV special for GMA-7 on Monday, January 31. The international singer was supposed to shoot Charice: Home for Christmas last November but it had to be postponed because she was sick with the stomach flu. Ogie Alcasid, Rachelle Ann Go and Elmo Magalona are some of the performers in the GMA-7 special which will be aired in February. Charice told the press, kasama ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) who met her at the airport, "Very excited po ako at very thankful. When asked who her Valentine date is this year, the young singer said, "Family ko po!" But she admitted there are some guys who have expressed a romantic interest in her. "Meron mga umaaligid pero hanggang aligid na lang sila," Charice said with a laugh. Is she allowed to go on dates? Charice declined to reveal names, but said, "May foreigner at may Pinoy." She said the foreigner is also a singer, but clarified that it's not David Archuleta. The 18-year-old singer admitted that she has a crush on Justin Timberlake. She said she was very conscious when she performed for him. "Na-meet ko na po siya noong November 2009. Kumanta ako for him. When asked if she has a wish list, Charice said: "Gusto ko bumili ng coaster na pwedeng lagyan ng kitchen. ON HER DETRACTORS. Charice said she checks her Twitter account regularly. "Every day nagbubukas ako ng Twitter. Naniniwala ako dun sa kasabihang, 'You can't please everybody.'" Charice was probably referring to TV host-columnist Ogie Diaz who tweeted about her nerdy glasses, among other things. He posted on Twitter: "May nakapagsabi nah bah kay Charice na hindi bagay sa kanya ang nerdy glasses? She always wears [them] but [they] look so ugly on her." Charice said she sports the look to go with her character, Sunshine Corazon, in the American musical comedy series, Glee Season 2. "For me, as long as wala namang nagsasabi na taga-ibang bansa na ganun [ugly], wala namang dapat ika-bother. For me, sanay na po ako." Ogie was also one of many showbiz writers who complained about Charice's supposed "snubbing" of the media last January 8 in connection with her 1@11 concert at the SM Mall of Asia. Members of the press had waited for Charice's arrival at the airport but were unable to interview the singer that day. "That time po talaga I had no idea. OGIE'S APOLOGY. A few days ago, Ogie publicly apologized to Charice for his nasty tweets after fans of the diminutive diva vowed to “boycott" all his projects. What is her reaction to Ogie's apology? Has she forgiven Ogie? Kasi for me, opinion lang nila yun." What does she think of the Chasters (Charice's followers) who insulted Ogie and tweeted harsh things about him? She thanked her supporters for defending her from her detractors. "Maraming salamat at pinaglaban ninyo ako kahit wala ako dito." - Philippine Entertainment Portal
