NDRRMC: 5th fatality in Makati bus bombing identified


The fifth fatality in the January 25 bus bombing in Makati City has been identified, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Sunday. In its 6:00 p.m. update, the NDRRMC identified the fifth fatality as Johnlie Daquioag. The NDRRMC also said the number of those injured in the incident went up to 15. "Of the 15 injured, 10 were already discharged from the hospitals while five others are still under observation," the NDRRMC said. The four fatalities earlier identified included:

  • Jhohanson Reyes;
  • Shirley Criselle Ausena;
  • Marino Salustino; and
  • Irish Teñola. An improvised bomb went off inside a Newman Goldliner bus at the corner of Epifanio delos Santos and Buendia Avenues in Makati City last Tuesday. The incident prompted travel advisories from at least two countries - Australia and the United Kingdom. According to the NDRRMC, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, local government units and non-government organizations have spent P1.276 million in assistance for the victims. – VVP, GMANews.TV
