The government has started accepting bidders that will supply coal to the Naga power plant complex in Cebu, Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. (PSALM) said Monday. At stake in the bid are 140,000 metric tons of coal that will fuel some power plants in the complex this year, according to PSALM. All bids must be in by Feb. 21, the state-owned firm said. PSALM said at least P860 million has been alloted for the procurement of coal. The amount will come from PSALM's corporate operating budget for this year.
