Report: 100 kilos of ‘double dead’ chicken meat intercepted in Malabon


UPDATED 2:00 p.m. - At least three women were arrested after they were caught with around 100 kilos of “double dead" or tainted chicken meat in Malabon City shortly before midnight on Monday. According to a Balitanghali report on Tuesday, 100 kilos of tainted chicken meat were confiscated in Malabon City. However, according to radio dzBB’s Paulo Santos, the police confiscated 300 kilos of double dead chicken meat. Santos also reported that the police suspected that the three women were attempting to bring the chicken meat to Balintawak Market in Quezon City. The police identified the suspects as Evelyn Grastila, Luz Peyra, and Mary Grace Guevarra. The confiscated meat was turned over to the Malabon City veterinarian’s office, Santos reported. The initial investigation showed that the three women were intercepted at the corner of M.H. del Pilar St. corner Governor Pascual Avenue in Malabon City at around 11:00 p.m. on Monday.
