Adamson bucked an erratic third set before putting away National University, 25-15, 25-16, 9-25, 25-19, Wednesday in the UAAP womenâs volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan. With the win, the Lady Falcons formalized their entry into the Final Four. Angela Benting tallied 17 points while Pau Soriano added 16 as the Lady Falcons booked a spot in the semifinals for the third straight time. Adamsonâs victory also gave Ateneo a free ride to the semis. The Lady Eagles beat University of the East, 25-15, 25-14, 25-14, in the other scheduled game.

The Lady Eagles and the Lady Falcons carry identical 8-4 slates with only two games remaining in the elimination round. La Salle and University of Santo Tomas have already clinched the first two slots in the semifinals, with the Lady Archers leading the way with a league-best 10-1 record. The Tigresses tote an 8-3 card. But Adamson coach Minerva Dulce Pante was far from satisfied with her teamâs performance. âThey relaxed in the third set," said Pante. âBut it proved to be a blessing in disguise as I was able to give the second stringers a chance to play." But Pante said that they are still aiming for the top two spots that would give the team a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals. âWe still have UST and Ateneo in our schedule. We still have a chance for the top two spots," added Pante. Maricar Nepomuceno led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points for the Lady Bulldogs, who dropped to 4-8 and bowed out of contention. But NUâs performance was a big improvement from last seasonâs campaign when it posted only one win in 14 matches. -
