Mandaluyong City official killed in ambush

With at least two accomplices acting as lookouts, an unidentified motorcycle-riding man shot a Mandaluyong City official in an ambush Friday night. Radio dzBB's Roland Bola reported Jun Torres was on a gray Toyota Fortuner when he was attacked at Barangka Drive in Barangka village. Torres, who the report said was the city's chief political adviser, was shot in the head. He was rushed to the Mandaluyong City General Hospital, then to the University of Santo Tomas Hospital in Manila, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police are looking for at least three men who took part in the ambush, including the gunman described as wearing a light-brown polo shirt. Witnesses said at least two other men acted as lookouts. An initial investigation showed the incident occurred at 9:45 p.m., when the gunman fired at Torres upon seeing that the window of the victim's vehicle was rolled down. — LBG, GMA News Online
