Report: Mubarak resigns as head of Egypt ruling party

CAIRO, Feb 5 - President Hosni Mubarak resigned as head of Egypt's ruling party on Saturday, television said. A report on Al-Jazeera's Twitter said, however, that Mubarak remains as President for now. An earlier Reuters report said the leadership of the ruling National Democratic Party also resigned on Saturday, including Gamal Mubarak, the son of the embattled President.
