Municipal administrator of Sibagat in Agusan del Sur shot dead

BUTUAN CITY- Two unidentified assassins armed with caliber .45 pistols shot dead the municipal administrator of Sibagat town, Agusan del Sur on Tuesday, police said. The Caraga Police regional information office identified the victim as Medel Sambolod Samson, 45, of Purok-6, Barangay Poblacion, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur. The initial investigation showed that the victim was driving a motorcycle and was about to enter the gate of his residence when the suspects suddenly appeared and shot the victim twice — on the head and on his back. The suspects fled after the shooting. Family members rushed Samson to a local private hospital in Butuan City, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. Sibagat police said they are still determining the identity of the suspects and the motive behind the killing. Sibagat is known as one of the timber-rich areas of the province and the entire Caraga region. – VVP/YA, GMA News
