DFA hosts Holocaust exhibit Feb. 9-14

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is hosting an exhibit honoring the memory of the victims of the Holocaust during World War II. Entitled "Shoah in Europe," the exhibit at the DFA main lobby was launched on February 9, the DFA said in a news release on its website on Friday. The exhibit will run at the DFA main lobby until Feb. 14. "The exhibit aims to honor the memory of the victims of the Holocaust during World War II and to educate the public about the Holocaust history to help prevent future acts of genocide," the DFA said. The DFA organized the exhibit, in partnership with the United Nations Information Center (UNIC) Manila, the Jewish Association of the Philippines and the Philippine Postal Corporation. DFA Undersecretary for Policy Erlinda Basilio, Israel Ambassador to the Philippines Zvi Avner Vapni, and UN Resident Coordinator Dr. Jacqueline Badcock each delivered messages during the launch. Commissioner on Human Rights chairwoman Loretta Ann Rosales was likewise present at the opening of the exhibit. – VVP, GMA News
