Police arrest carjack gang, recover stolen car

Authorities arrested over the weekend six members of a carjack ring and recovered a car they allegedly took in eastern Metro Manila on Wednesday. The gang’s modus operandi includes the victim’s driver as part of the plan, according to a report on radio dzBB Sunday. Recovered in Pangasinan province was a dark-gray Honda CR-V that was reported stolen in North Greenhills, San Juan City on Feb. 9. The police arrested at least six members of the carjack gang, including the driver identified as Romar Solis, according to a report on QTV. The driver had been working for the victim in the last four years, the report said. Also arrested was Bino Dacer, believed to be the ringleader. According to the dzBB report, the gang may have been operating in San Juan and Quezon City. VS, GMA News
