Barangay official's son killed in Isabela bar melee

Santiago City, ISABELA — A son of a village official here was killed while four others were hurt in a melee inside a videoke bar in Barangay Villasis, police said Sunday. Manny Apiado, son of Balintocatoc village chief Manuel Apiado, died Saturday night after being shot four times by an unidentified suspect who immediately fled the scene, according to PO3 Victorio Pineda, city police investigator. Hurt in the incident were Manny’s uncle Marlon Apiado, bar owner Marjon Rivera, cashier Narja Aparilla, and an unidentified companion. Pineda said Apiado was shot after he and his group tried to pacify a fracas involving two patrons of the bar. Seven empty shells of cal. 45 handgun were found at the site. — Joel Nueva/KBK, GMA News
