PBL, Davis Cup up for discussion in PSA Forum

The new season of the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and the country’s Davis Cup tie against Japan in Cebu City next month will be discussed in Tuesday’s session of the PSA Forum at Shakey’s U.N. Ave. Representing the PBL in the 10:30 a.m. public sports program aired live over DZSR Sports Radio 918 are incoming commissioner Nolan Bernardino, Pharex team manager Jean Alabanza, and Cobra Energy Drink coach Lawrence Chongson. Meanwhile, Randy Villanueva, the country’s Davis Cup administrator and Philippine Tennis Association (PTA) vice-president, is going to be accompanied by co-organizers from Cebu and a representative of the sponsoring Cebuana Lhuillier, as part of the agenda is the Filipino netters’ Asia-Oceania Group 1 tie match against the Japanese on March 4-6 at Plantation Bay Resort. Also appearing in the forum are Subic Bay Yacht Club Commodore Ricky Sandoval and Subic Lighthouse president Jun Avecilla, who will speak about the inaugural staging of the Subic to Boracay Race and the Boracay Cup, respectively. - KY, RCJ, GMA News
