Three killed in Quezon province flash floods


At least three people were killed in the wake of flash floods that hit Quezon province last weekend, disaster management officials said Monday night. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the flash floods hits Sangirin village in Perez town in Quezon at 3 a.m. Saturday. In its 6 p.m. Monday report, the NDRRMC identified the fatalities as:

    * Ynah Mustera, 10; * Jonathan Flores, 6; and * Nora Mustera, 48, initially reported as missing.
The NDRRMC said the floods affected at least 22 families or 110 people, with nine families still staying at the village day care center. At least six houses were washed out by the flash flood, it added. The NDRRMC said the local social welfare office is now taking care of the needs of the evacuees. — LBG, GMA News
