Sun to double cell sites in Mindanao by yearend

Sun Cellular is setting up additional 500 cell sites in Mindanao as part of its expansion program for unlimited calls and texts, and broadband service in the region. “We will have around 1,000 cell sites in Mindanao by end 2011 to provide subscribers with wider network coverage and stronger signal especially in key areas in the region such as Davao, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, and Zamboanga," Bill Pamintuan, senior vice president for Digitel, said. Sun has also launched its Sun Magic Zone Mindanao SIM, made exclusively for Mindanao, to mark its expansion in the region. The Sun Magic Zone Mindanao SIM allows subscribers to make unlimited calls and texts to the millions of Sun subscribers in Mindanao for P10 per day. Subscribers can also have unlimited texts to all Sun subscribers in Mindanao for P5 per day. Sun Magic Zone subscribers can also call and text other networks or Sun subscribers outside Mindanao by loading up with Sun’s loads, such as the Call & Text Unlimited, Call and Text Combo, or Text Unlimited. — Newsbytes.ph
