Reward offered for info on Cebu inmate who bolted jail

The officials of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Cebu offered a P10,000 reward for information leading to the recapture of Francisco Libradilla, the inmate who escaped on Wednesday. Radio dzBB’s Cebu affiliate said a manhunt is now in progress for a 19-year-old inmate who managed to escape from the Cebu City Jail after being allowed to sleep on the facility’s rooftop early Wednesday. Libradilla, a native of Barili town in Cebu, who was incarcerated for a robbery case, took advantage of heavy rains early Wednesday to make his escape. The initial investigation showed that Libradilla and some fellow inmates were allowed to sleep at the rooftop because the jail was congested. Amid heavy rains early Wednesday, he managed to scale the 14- to 16-foot-high jail wall from the rooftop. A tower guard saw him but could not stop him in time. The jail officials asked the public to inform them if they see Libradilla, who they described as bald and has a heart-shaped tattoo on his right shoulder. – VVP, GMA News
